tulips!
On Friday, April 27th, Ryan and I drove to Skagit Valley for the annual tulip festival. Fields of tulips are planted in colorful rows on farms across the valley and flood the eyes with an expanse of reds, purples, oranges, and yellows. After refreshing our senses with the fragrant tulips, we headed to Deception Pass, a state park overlooking the Sound. We found a hidden trail in the woods that led us to a rocky bluff overlooking the water. After resting to the sound of the waves, we drove through Whidbey Island to take a ferry and eat fresh seafood in Port Townsend, a quant coastal town at the tip of the Olympic Peninsula. This historical area is known for the preservation of its buildings and Victorian homes. We then took another ferry ride to Edmonds and drove back to Seattle. Bisous.
