On Tuesday I saw a renovated version of A Trip to the Moon by Georges Méliès (1902) at the Film Forum. The french band, Air, created a new soundtrack to contemporize the film and it is beautiful and dreamy. After the viewing, a documentary on the history and renovation of the film was screened and it strongly enhanced my appreciation of the genius of Melies and the process of preservation.
